Yes, Other state candidates can apply for AMU LLB Programme. There are total 220 seats (Aligarh-100 seats, Malappuram-60 seats and Murshidabad-60 seats. If you are preparing CLAT or other 5 years Integrated programme then It is easy for you. Here are some preparation tips you can follow.
Know the syllabus. Know the paper pattern. Know the sections.
Make a study plan. So basically make 2, one is study plan and other is routine plan of your daily activities and follow it strictly.
Make your own notes & note down the important things, It will help you to make revision.
Do practise as much you can and Join Mock test to analyze your performance & weak areas.
After completing one topic do revision again to make it strong.

Assuming asking for the preparation for AMU B.A LLb programme, AMU BA LLB examination will cover the following subjects: General English Current Affairs General Knowledge Reasoning and Aptitude
General Knowledge and Current Affairs sections of AMU law entrance exam will consist of legal issues questions in majority.
If you are already preparing for other integrated law programmes then it will be helpful for you. You can go through with the previous year papers to know the level of questions & do practise with as much you can.

AMU will be releasing their exam pattern for BA LLB 2018 in the last week of Januray 2018 and this exam will be conducted on May 23 all the best for that.
Now regarding the syllabus you may find questions which include:
1) General English (grammar, synonyms, antonyms etc.)
2)General Knowledge(Current affairs, Read newspaper etc)
3)Reasoning aptitude (Blood relations, critical reasoning, series etc.)
Preferred books could be R.Gupta which you may find on any online sites, For objective General Knowledge and for Quantitative Aptitude may refer RS Agarwal, For Analytical Reasoning book could be M K Pandey.
