If you are not interested in food technology then don't take but yes hbtu is a good college and has brand name you can always get like minded people there who will improve your knowledge as competition there is good. You may take AMU if you get a desired branch or somewhat a decent branch. Second drop is always a risk so I won't advice you to take second drop. If you want a branch too badly then search for colleges having these branches and taking admission through management quota this might be the last option.

Since you have not mentioned your category, I assume that you are from General category. According to last year, the starting rank was 14521 and the closing rank was 22098 for JMI. Whereas the  cut off rank was 8240 in AMU.

Dear aspirant hope you are doing well. You have to apply for gap certificate in your home state.To apply for a gap certificate the candidate has to go to the district court or contact any lawyer/advocate . A legal affidavit will be issued by the court which will be considered as proof for the reason for which the student has taken a gap in his/er education years.

Admissions in Class VI in all AMU Schools, except Ahmadi School for the Visually Challenged, are offered through Admission Test comprising of written test and interview of the short-listed candidates.The Written Test shall comprise two sections

Section-I: It shall be of 25 marks comprising 25 Objective type questions of one mark each on Languages (English, Urdu and Hindi)

Section-II: It shall be of 60 marks comprising of 60 Objective type questions of one mark each.

1. Mathematics : 30 marks

2. Science : 30 marks

There is no negative marking.

Also a minimum of 40% marks are required in Section - 1 to be eligible for interview.
