hi my question is that can i do bachelor in veterinary science after i complete my diploma in animal husbandry?

Yes, you can do bachelor in veterinary science after completion of your diploma in animal husbandry.By joining BVSc(Bachelor's in veterinary science) and AH (Animal husbandry ).

The minimum qualification to study Bachelor in Veterinary science is 10+2 and age should be minimum of 17.

There are many employment opportunities for students completing their bachelor's degree in veterinary science like veterinary surgeon, veterinary consultant..etc

Hello Gujjugari Mahesh ,

Bachelor of veterinary science and animal husbandry ( BVSc AH ) is an 5½ years undergraduate program that comes under medical courses.

It deals with the study of medical diagnostics, and treatment of diseases of the animals.....

The five-year course will comprise both theoretical subjects as well as practical examinations. Candidates also have to take up a medical internship of six months to one year in the final year of the programme in order to achieve the B.V.Sc degree.......

In order to take admission in B.V.SC courses, candidates have to study Science up to class 12 with Biology, Chemistry and Physics as compulsory subjects......

To become an IFS officer you need to qualify the UPSC CSE examination. The eligibility for this examination is that you need to be a graduate in any subject. So you can study any subject which will make you eligible for UPSC CSE. Now for being an IFS you need to score good in your UPSC CSE examination and for that you have to prepare well for the UPSC syllabus. So you can do graduation in any subject there are no restrictions about it. To be an IFS officer you need to study well for UPSC.

The Bachelor of Veterinary Sciences & Animal Husbandry (B.V.Sc. & AH) degree falls within the Veterinary Education part of Medical Education in India, and is therefore monitored by the Veterinary Council of India. This programme focuses primarily on veterinary anatomy, veterinary physiology and biochemistry, and livestock production and management. The length of this course is about five years, including six months for a mandatory internship. The cost varies based on the institution. The requirements for the BVSc & AH program are as follows: You must be at least 17 years of age at time of admission, and pass the Intermediate Science (10+2) exam in the subjects of physics, chemistry, biology and English. Because of domicile restrictions and a limited number of seats available at each institution (generally varying between 30 to 80 seats), admission into the BVSc & AH is partially based on the applicant’s rank in the annual All India Pre-Veterinary Test, which must be taken as well. Graduating with a Bachelor of Veterinary Sciences & Animal Husbandry may allow you to pursue a career in a number of fields, such as the poultry industry, a job as a veterinary doctor in either a private practice, at a zoological park, in the armed forces, or even in veterinary research.

Admission procedure  can vary from one college to another. Most of the institutes offer admission to the BVSc AH. Course, based on the merit list or marks secured in the entrance examination of that particular college.

Following is the procedure to apply for this course:

Registration: Registration dates are announced on the official website of the college around 4-5 weeks before by the institute. You need to create an account with basic details like email-id, phone number, etc. (The registration is done on the official websites of the particular college you are applying to)

Fill up details: After registration you need to fill up the application form with all necessary details with care.

Submit documents: You need to upload all required documents like mark sheets. Documents should be uploaded in a specific format specified by the institute’s application portal.

Application fee: You need to pay some application fee online during the submission of the application form.

Download admit card: Admit cards are released on the official website of the exam conducting body. You need to download and print it out for your entrance examination.

Results or merit: Results are announced after a few weeks of the exam day. If you are successfully qualifies the entrance examinations, you can move on to the next round.

If the admission is based on Merit system, then you can search for your name in the merit list released by the college (make sure to regularly check the official website of the college you are applying to).

after 10th course details in animal husbandry

Hello there!

Hope you are doing fine.

Animal husbandry and dairying is a diploma course of two years in National Dairy institute, Karnal. One academic session has two semesters of about 18 weeks.


Eligibility criteria:

10th standard or equivalent examination with at least 50% marks in aggregate for General &OBC and 40% for SC/ST, PH category.

The minimum age limit shall be 15 years on or before 31st July and the maximum age limit shall be 21 years. Maximum age limit for an in-service candidate shall be 45 years as on 31 July.


Admission process-

The admissions are done through the entrance examination conducted by the University. The examination is held at NDRI, Karnal and its regional stations at Bangalore and Kalyani in the month of May/June. The candidates are selected for admission on the basis of merit in the Entrance Examination and Counseling.

The eligiblity for Animal Husbandry says that candidates who maintain 55 percent aggregates in their bachelor's degree courses.If you have pursued percentage level above the mentioned criterion in Bsc Human Physiology then you can surely apply for the animal husbandry.

Students can pursue diploma or degree courses of B.V.Sc after completion of Class 12th from recognized board and institution

The eligibility criteria for pursuing BVSc is as follows:

  • Candidates must have passed their 10+2 with subjects Physics , Chemistry , Biology , and with a minimum of 50% in aggregate from CBSE /ICSE/State Board or equivalent.

  • Some of the universities and colleges conduct entrance exams for the candidates to be eligible for the course.

  • Eligibility to most veterinary colleges and universities is on the basis of marks secured in the entrance examinations conducted by the respective universities and colleges.

  • Some students who have passed their 10+2 in zoology are also eligible to join veterinary colleges as a lateral entry student.
