Bachelor of veterinary science and animal husbandry ( BVSc AH ) is an 5½ years undergraduate program that comes under medical courses.

It deals with the study of medical diagnostics, and treatment of diseases of the animals.....

The five-year course will comprise both theoretical subjects as well as practical examinations. Candidates also have to take up a medical internship of six months to one year in the final year of the programme in order to achieve the B.V.Sc degree.......

In order to take admission in B.V.SC courses, candidates have to study Science up to class 12 with Biology, Chemistry and Physics as compulsory subjects......

The Bachelor of Veterinary Sciences & Animal Husbandry (B.V.Sc. & AH) degree falls within the Veterinary Education part of Medical Education in India, and is therefore monitored by the Veterinary Council of India. This programme focuses primarily on veterinary anatomy, veterinary physiology and biochemistry, and livestock production and management. The length of this course is about five years, including six months for a mandatory internship. The cost varies based on the institution. Animal husbandry and dairying is a diploma course of two years in National Dairy institute, Karnal. One academic session has two semesters of about 18 weeks.

Eligibility criteria:

10th standard or equivalent examination with at least 50% marks in aggregate for General &OBC and 40% for SC/ST, PH category.

The minimum age limit shall be 15 years on or before 31st July and the maximum age limit shall be 21 years. Maximum age limit for an in-service candidate shall be 45 years as on 31 July.

Admission process-

The admissions are done through the entrance examination conducted by the University. The examination is held at NDRI, Karnal and its regional stations at Bangalore and Kalyani in the month of May/June. The candidates are selected for admission on the basis of merit in the Entrance Examination and Counseling.
