Hello Kaira,

The eligibility criteria for getting admission in B.Sc Anthropology course in Hansraj College is :-

1) Qualifying the admission exam conducted by Delhi University for first year UG courses.

2) Should have given their senior secondary certificate examination from CBSE or any recognised board.

3) 55+ aggregate percentage marks on Physics, Chemistry and Biology (THEORY AND PRACTICAL both inclusive) and 50+ percentage in one compulsory language (English merit).

So, it is compulsory for you to have Physics , Chemistry and Biology in your 11 and 12 classes.

I have got 93 in Common Test for M.A Anthropology from general bhu and EWS quota. Can i get admission there?

SHANTANU SHRIVASTAVA 28th Sep, 2020

Hello,

As your marks for getting admission in Banaras Hindu University for the course of M.A. Anthropology is not sufficient, so it is more likely that your admission will not be eligible in main campus. However, you may get the seat in affiliated colleges of Banaras Hindu University in second or third counselling. Keep visiting the official website for updates in counselling procedures.

Thank You!

Which have more job scope social or biological Anthropology ?

ojaswiyolo Student Expert 26th Jul, 2020

Hey Gargi

I would first like to say that the scope in a subject can be created with interest in that subject. However with that being said, according to me biological anthropology is  a better option. In this subject you can have  a career in primatology, paleoanthropology, teaching in school or university (research focus) , research, museums, analyzing crime scene and  DNA etc

Archaeology: Examines people and cultures of the past.

Biological Anthropology: Specializes in evolution, genetics, and health.

Cultural Anthropology: Studies human societies and elements of cultural life.

Linguistic Anthropology: Concentration of cultural anthropology that focuses on language in society.

Career in Anthropology: Students with Arts stream can also apply to pursue a course in Anthropology. Generally a Science background at the +2 level is preferred for a B.Sc. program in Anthropology. which one is easier in graduation sociology or anthropology

Yash Dev Student Expert 25th May, 2020

Hello student its not fair to compare two courses because it may vary student to student which one is easy or which one is hard I'll suggest you to choose one in which you're interested and in which hoi can work hard so that you won't get bored in college and learn new things. In sociology and anthropology sociology is more preferable among students.

Feel free to comment if you have any doubt

Good luck

if we are not interested in biology due to craming of names species and have interest in evolution of human and others things in anthropology do we opt it?does it include only understanding or cramming also like in biology?do I opt or not I dont want to cram things like on biology? I am non med st.

Manidipa Kundu Student Expert 25th May, 2020

hi,

see if you opt for bsc in zoology/botany/microbiology or any other courses related with biology you need to remember the scientific names, let it be animals or virus or bacterias any thing, scientific names is one of the most important things and it includes in most of the topics related with biology. so you need to think deeply whether you should opt for bachelors in biology related field.
