This information is not yet updated by the ministry.

The previous years information might be helpful so you can guess for 2019 .

In 2018, around 15–20k students applications were accepted.

In 2017, this number was around 12–15k. In 2016, it was slightly more than that in 2017.

which is best qantitative aptitude book arun sharma or pearson for all exam not especially CAT.

Pritam Singh 14th Jun, 2020

Hey there

For CAT and in general for other management exams too like XAT, CMAT, etc you can solve quantitative aptitude by Arun sharma. The book is well written such that theory and numerical both are in adequate proportion. Though pearson is also good and one can follow it too. Arun sharma is one of those books recommended by all toppers.

good luck

Data Analytics- What you do with Data, How you analyse the data & the back end how do you already structured a solution for certain issues that will come up is all the part of Data Analytics so Data analytics is not new, Today in IT, We are using the programming language for example Python is most favourite, We apply many of us & we have a various tools which will help with doing all the analyses on its own so person who comes as in data Analytics will be able to understand how to put this data together, Use the right language, use the right environment & use the right tool which are already available. That is how data is intervene with IT otherwise data analytics is always a part of Mathematical, Artistical.

If you have two careers in front of you, one based on your aptitude the other based on your personality. Which should you choose? eg- I have very stable hands, I am calm under pressure e.t.c so an advisor told me I should be a surgeon. But I like competion and movement in my job. What should I do?

Nimisha Gupta 16th May, 2020

Hello Arnav,

Generally when we are given two options for our career we want to take the one which gives us ultimate satisfaction in life.

There are always so many people trying to give there opinions but in the end it always matters what we want to do.

If someone is giving you a option for becoming a surgeon but you don't want that for yourself then simply don't do it. Because everytime you would be deceiving yourself only by thinking what if I had chosen something else.

My advice is to go for the thing that most excites you.

Good luck!

I know that shift of exam, difficulty level of paper, the aptitude of students sitting in my shift are important factors nd matter a lot,but consideriing all this to be important then what are the range of marks(min. to max.) i should score in jee main june 2020 to score a percentile of around 98.

Sonali Sahu Student Expert 29th Apr, 2020

Hello,

Percentile says where you stand in the whole crowd of students who appeared JEE main 2020. Your percentile solely depends on your performance i.e. how much you score. Percentile is used to make rank list and other factors are also involved alongside.

if you want to score 98 percentile then you have to study so that your score will be above 85%-90% above the total marks.  Many students have same percentile but no student have same rank as they get prioritized when rank list is made.

so don't think about rank. perform well in your exam and prepare for it.

Hope it helps!

Sir , I am non maths do your app provides any online free teaching for quantitave aptitude of ipmat

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 19th Apr, 2020
Kratika, We do not have special Quantitative Aptitude classes for IPMAT. But we can help you with the syllabus and tips as how to prepare for IPMAT.

IPMAT has 2 sections Quantitative Aptitude and Verbal Ability. Now QA has 60 marks allotted and VA has 40 marks. Each correct answer gets you 4 marks and a wrong answer takes away 1 mark in the form of negative marking. Though there has been no official release of any syllabus, based on examinations over the years, it has been concluded that few topics are the most covered,

QA:

Number system, LCM & HCF, Percentage, Quadratic Equations, Binomial Theorem, Functions, Mensuration, Permutation and Combination, Probability, Profit, Loss and Discounts, Simple and Compound Interest, Progressions, Ratio and Proportion, Mixtures and Alligations, Logarithms, Time, Speed and Distance, Time and Work, Trigonometry, Geometery, Problems on Ages, Series and Unitary Method, Set Theory, Data Interpretation and Equations.

Because this section involves mathematics and takes most of your time, your focus should be on solving the problems efficiently in the beginning. Even if it takes time, practise upto perfection. Practise as many questions as you can in the conventional way. As and when you get a grip on the subject, you can go for short cuts. Memorise tables, square roots, cube roots, conversion from percent to fraction, etc. Solve sample papers on Mathematics. In the beginning, do not worry about the time it takes. As you practise, you will get the hang of the subject and it will be easier for you.

VA:

Vocabulary, Reading Comprehension, Grammar, Sentence Rearrangement, Sentence Correction, Sentence Completion, Correct Usage of words and phrases and verbal analogies.

Read articles from time to time. Follow newspapers, magazines, and watch the news channels and browse the internet to keep yourself updated. You will need a lot of reading to help you in the comprehension section. You will need speed to help you in this section and you can achieve that only by thorough practise and reading. Take time to understand the question because most answers are interlinked.
The question have been saved in answer later, you can access it from your profile anytime. Access now
