suppose i attempted only 2-4 questions of mathematics portion in b.arch and managed to get 170+ in aptitude portion and 70+ in drawing. Would i be able secure admission in good colleges?

Rishi Garg 5th Jan, 2020

It depends on the overall rank. However if you do so, you can get a good rank but again it depends (on the difficulty of the three subjects separately). If the aptitude part is tough enough and mathematics is not and then of you score 170+ in aptitude and only 3-4 questions in mathematics then you will get a much better rank.

Based upon your overall rank, admission will be made to the different institutes.

In general, you will get a decent college by doing so (if your luck is not that much bad).

Can I get 15 out of 15 in aptitude by just solving prev. 10 years in Aptitude for Civil?

Harshita Gupta 25th Dec, 2019
Hey,

Solving old papers will definately help you score good, but you need to understand the questions when you solve them. Learning the tricks and shortcut methods will be very useful. This will help in solving Aptitude questions quickly and save your time. You can refer to good Aptitude books or else, you can find many YouTube channels from where you can learn these things.
The Aptitude part consists of logical reasoning, verbal ability and quantitative aptitude.
You need to study and improve your vocabulary for verbal ability. This part makes scoring full marks a little tough. Also, logical reasoning will be easy only if you have good practice as it requires you to use your brain. Quantitative will be relatively easier because there are only basic formulas in it.

Hope this helps!

How to qualify lic assistant exam phase 1?

Ronak Gala Student Expert 19th Oct, 2019

I'll try to give you a rough idea in detail to crack the LIC ASSISTANT exam sectionwise...

How to attempt the English Language section?

  • This section is qualifying in nature. If you good at grammar proceed with filler, sentence correction, error detection, etc.
  • If you are good at reading, go with Reading comprehension. This will give you about 7-8 marks depending upon the number of question in this section.

    • While solving the cloze test, do not mark the answer without reading the full passage. Read it twice to get the idea behind it and then solve the blanks.
    • Vocabulary to most of the aspirants is hard to learn. If you are stuck in these type of questions then don’t panic. Just analyze the part of the speech and mark the correct option.
  • How to attempt the Reasoning ability Section?

    • The trick to fetch maximum marks in the reasoning section is to be very good at solving puzzle and seating arrangement without taking too much time. As per the examination recently held, puzzled based on circular arrangement, linear arrangement, parallel line arrangement, floor/ box based puzzle were asked. You can expect this type of puzzles in this exam too.
    • Puzzles have the highest ratio of marks in any of the competitive exams. If you are proceeding with this part, be sure not to spend much time if you are stuck on any of the puzzle.
    • Do not proceed with the difficult puzzle in the starting. Try to solve the easy questions like coding-decoding, alphanumeric series, direction sense, blood relation, etc.
  • How to attempt the Quantitative aptitude section?

    • This is the most dreaded section among students. This section requires a good hand on the basic concepts of each chapter.
    • Try to solve the questions like simplification and approximation, quadratic equation, number series, etc in the starting.
    • After that proceed with the DI that may carry 10-12 marks if two sets of DI has been given in the test. The base of DI could be from chapters like ration and proportion, time and work, speed and distance, etc. So to solve this part you need to be very good at these chapters.
    • DI can be based on the pie chart, graph, line graph, caselet as asked in the previous banking examination.
    • Go through the DI and if you find it difficult to solve within 3-4 minutes then proceed with other questions first.
    • If you are very good at miscellaneous part attempt those questions first in the minimum of time.
  • NOTE: picking up the right question plays a very crucial role in every exam. You should know which question should be attempted and which can be skipped for later, this will help you reduce your time and do not forget to keep an eye on the speed and accuracy. Mark only those questions you are sure about. Avoid random guessing of answers. This may lead to losing your chance of getting selected in this or any exam.

    All the Best! Thank you.
