Reva University is pretty well known for its campus and infrastructure but not to forget that Reva has very good faculties who can guide you in any way other than curriculum (if you're interested) . There are centres where you can work on your interests.

And coming to placements

First of all u need to be 100%dedicated. Make ur foundation strong and brush up all the topics. Then start with actual preparation. Follow all the standard books. Abc of physics is really a very good book

It depends on which private college you are talking about.
Some private colleges have really great placement records so spending that much for a degree really helps.
Architecture engineering is a relatively novel concept and will definitely benefit you in the long run.
