According to your rank and category , you would get some medium or low level nit's in the 6th or 7th round of josaa also . Even in your home state nit silchar you could get a branch like electrical and mechanical in the earlier rounds also

According to the cutoff of NLU Assam and NLU Shimla the closing rank for being admittes in NLU Assam is 1584 and to get admitted in an NLU Shimla the closing rank is 786 for general category. SO, it is difficult to get you to the seat in NLU as

Look, your rank is not so good. You may not get any government seat probably. For government seat, one should be with around 4000 to 5000 rank. So, you should go for private colleges.
