For admission in Bped in physical education courses candidates has to complete graduation with any stream science, arts or commerce at least 50% marks for government colleges admission.They have to appear for admission in BPed courses an entrance test  which is different for different colleges and universities.to qualify

Yes you can do bachalor of arts ( BA) after completing your diploma in mechanical engineering. It's totally your choice. But you can't join there as a lateral entry. You have to starting from first there. You can only take admission as a lateral entry in BTech course.
