In terms of faculty, there are a mixed breed I would say. Some are good(not great) and some are awful. Actually, most of them are towards the inadept side. Very few are good at what they do. But I guess, this is the case in most of the colleges.
I think your rank is good but for best options you have check out the last year cut off and coresponding ranks and than you will get the full approximation about admission.
Moreover you can also try out and check out which college you will get which you wont,>>>
