Upgrade Observation & Visualisation Skills:The most crucial purpose of the test is to gauge your creative and imaginative skills. Apart from that, the questions are framed in order to judge your general awareness, observation skills and visualization as well. So, working on developing these skills is very important.
Improve Speed:Having exceptional drawing skills and creativity are useless if you don’t have speed. The whole idea is to be able to present your imagination and uniqueness in a limited time.
Solve Sample Papers:It is recommended that you practice sample papers as much as you can. This will give you an idea about the types of questions that will be asked.
General Awareness: Awareness about current happenings is very important. You should also know about the famous designers, who have contributed in this challenging field. Spend time on reading fashion and design books/magazines.
Be Innovative: You should have the ability to come up with unique ideas to design something new. CAT and GAT will evaluate your unique way of thinking.

Hey Harsh Patel,
Average package of B.Des from IITs is around 16–17 lpa. Talking about future scope, most of the designers from IITs create their career in the field of Interaction Design. Companies like Microsoft , Samsung, Flipkart , Uber, Sprinklr , Ola and many more hire designers from IIT mainly for the role of UI / UX designer. The demand for these designers are increasing year by year as most companies have now realized how important it is to have a intuitive great interface.
Good Luck.
Hello Shirinishon, Forgive me. There have been serious miscalculations by me. I Checked the wrong data. I checked the CMR, not the category rank. I rechecked the cutoffs correctly and concluded that you won't be able to get admission in NIFT Delhi in any course. The last merit rank admitted was 3934 in NIFT Delhi was in Knitwear design course
Sorry for the inconvenience and the unpleasant experience you had to go through.
