yes u can do your M.tech from iit ,you can do your m.tech from iisc Bangalore if your gate rank is very good.As per my opinion you start your preparation beginning of 3 rd year and you can crack the gate exam

For that you need to get best rank in AIEEE/BITSAT/VITSAT. or else if you're capable of paying donation then it's fine to get top private colleges like SRM, VIT, BITS, GITAM etc..,
