IIITs are government colleges and are in great demand for admission because of their facilities and resources, and at the same time Anna university is well renowned University with an excellent record. But you should definitely choose IIIT Kancheepuram over CEG, because the facilities are better... You can still research
Yes I can be done but As doing Mtech after BTech is preferable. But if u interested in computer applications then you can join MCA

There is a scope to get goverment jobs. you can pursue higher studies after Graduation using Gate Score. PSU's like NLC,NTPC,GAIL. if you score high in gate exam they don't take any screeing exam and they directly call you for interview.
Even IITs,NITs consider gate score for higher
After completing b.tech in electronics and computer science engineering you can expect jobs which deal with microprocessors and chips. Electronic jobs are on the rise and such an education would be applicable in various (almost all) domains of robotics and automation. You can also study further in the mechatronics field.
