Hii muskan, yes in the first year of B.Tech Biotechnology subjects such as physics, maths, chemistry are compulsary. Other than this you will have to study basics of various types of engineering such as mechanical,electrical and also fundamentals of programming. The first year syllabus hardly involves subjects related to biotechnology.

Each and every college has different eligibility criteria for admission. But generally you will need to pass 10+2/equivalent along with maths, chemistry and biology as the compulsory subjects.
