Btech- is applied form of science. Here you will study the application of the subject in diffrent field.

Now for bsc biotec, you have less scope in terms of job. After bsc you need to do msc and phd to become a professor.

Congraulations on qualifying GATE and getting admitted in IIT PG course. The documents required while reporting for admission are- 

• GATE scorecared
• Highschool , i.e, class 10th marksheet and certificate
• Intermediate, i.e., class 12th marksheet and certificate
• Undergraduate degree academic record(marksheets)
• Caste and category certificate(if applicable)
• Application fee receipt

To get a seat in IIT through GATE qualifying mark is not possible.Irrespective of the academic marks, As you are from SC category you need to get minimum 60-70 marks to get the Top IIT's.

As you are getting qualifying marks your chances of getting NIT's is also low
