there is no robotics paper in GATE. there is a total of 24 disciplines listed in the link- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Graduate_Aptitude_Test_in_Engineering . go through them. if you want to study particularly robotics then you have to appear for mechanical engineering and then look for colleges which teach robotics. or you

Both the streams are based on different subjects and different categories. If you have interest on medical field then go for BPT, otherwise if you have interest in electricals then go for Btech Electrical its up to your choice. Generally the competation for BPT is low when comapred to Btech
