All you require now is to focus on your studies for now. You can start preparing for the GATE exam when you reach your third year so that when you are in your last semester, you can appear in the GATE examination.
For now I would only suggest
You can do so in application corrction window where you need ro also select Jee Main paper2wwhich is for Architecture courses.
Balance fee also needs to be paid since you are appearing for both. Correction window is from 8-14th October 2018.
Good scope majorly into Manufacturing, Metaks, Mining, Logistics, Shipping, etc sectors and into roles like CAD design, Robotics automation, Production management, quality assurance.
If done fron top IIT and NIT and Top 50 private engineering colleges then chances decent for salary above 5lpa.
Yeah you can , to get into teaching field. You can also go for post graduation like MTech by which you can become an assistant professor
