Can I do MSc biotechnology after clearing jam exam in sub biological science?

Himanshu Student Expert 4th Jun, 2019

Hii,There is no scope for continuing Msc in Microbiology using the JAM rank because IIT only offers MSc in biotechnology. I myself am doing so, though i have done my graduation in microbiology. In IIT they will have related courses but not exactly pertaining to microbiology always. In IISC you can do your int-phd in a related department if you qualify as there is ample scope to do so. Rest JAM is not significant for continuing msc in microbiology. There are other entrance Exams you can give to do so.

Hope, this information will helpful for you.Goodluck.

I got 24 percentile but when i checked my key it was 64 marks bt in percentile i got just 24 so could i able to get college in EC branch??

rutikbhandwalkar777_9160161 Student Expert 13th Jun, 2019

Hello Ravi,

Yes, you can get admission for EC branch based on your MHT-CET marks. But you will not get admission in top and best engineering as cut-offs are high. Try for admission in some decent colleges.

You can also use college predictor(which predicts colleges based on your rank): https://www.careers360.com/mht-cet-college-predictor

Good Luck!

Hope it helps you.

For any further queries please feel free to comment.

Thank you.

Hi Pradnya,

Biotechnology is one of those good courses to choose from, if you are really interested. Biotechnology is the application of advances made in the biological sciences, especially involving the science of genetics and its application. If opting Biotech, try to get admission in good colleges for best placements.

How is placements for btech biotechnology in ims ghaziabad??

Bhawana Sinha Student Expert 14th Jul, 2019
Studentshave been placed in various companies like McLeod Pharmacy, Amazon, JP Mitra, Hysel India. The average salary package offered is around 4.50 LPA, and the students are placed both in sales as well as core sectors of the companies. The college has a tie-up with Louisville for internships, and the company offers.Talking about just Biotech branch, the placements are good, and most of the students are placed with the help of the college. 60% to 70% students were placed, and excluding the few, remaining all were opting for further studies. The packages were also fine. It is nothing exceptional but also not too shabby.

Infrastructure:IMS Engineering College offers nice infrastructure with three buildings for classes. There are two cafeterias, a library and labs.
