Hello,
I hope you are doing fine, Yes, you can go for B. Tech in Biotechnology even if you didn’t have mathematics as a subject during your 10+2. Apart from IITs and NITs, you will be eligible for government institutes. You may be required to clear the entrance examinations for getting enrolled into B. Tech program.
There are many colleges that offer Biotechnology, Bioinformatics. Some of the top colleges are listed below -
Top colleges that offer B.Tech in biotechnology are all the top colleges in our country like :

Dear aspirant,
Yes, you can pursue Ph.D Biotechnology after completion of Master of Science (M.Sc) Bioinformatics. Ph.D Biotechnology is a Doctorate course which might take 3 years to 6 years to complete. The candidates must have 50 percentage to 56 percentage in their Master's degree. Mostly the admission is entrance exam based. Average course fees is Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 1,50,000.

Hello Aspirant,
Yes, you are definitely eligible for M.Tech in CSE even after having done your B.Tech in Bio-Informatics. Although it might be challenging but with hard work and proper strategy it can definitely be done.
Now, in order to pursue your M.Tech in CSE, you need to write your GATE paper in CSE and NOT Biotechnology. After that, the competition is similar to that of any CSE aspirant only that you need to cover the entire 4-year CSE B.Tech syllabus for GATE.
Hope this was helpful.
hi,
see you can not take admission in m.tech computers science by appearing in gate exam on biotechnology or any others field. you have to take cse as gate paper to pursue m.tech in cs related field.
students are eligible to participate in gate exam irrespective of their bachelors stream of education. even if you have studied biotechnology, you may select cs paper in gate exam to obtain m.tech course.
hope you understand.
Hi Sherin!
No doubt Sastra University provides good placement opportunities to students. Many companies such as Accenture, Mu Sigma, Flipkart, Wipro, microsoft , TCS, FreshDesk, Zoho, Intel, Ford, Boeing , Paypal, Oracle, etc. many companies visit the campus with average salary package between 5-6 LPA and highest salary package upto 25 LPA.
But there is no surety if company puts you in the headquarters or branch of its company. So, if a company in which you get placed has any of its office in Tamilnadu then there are chances that you will get placed in that region, otherwise it could be anywhere.
Thankyou!
Hi aspirant,
There are no problems if you don't want to pursue your career in bioinformatics, under the mentioned program you will be taught all the subjects that are taught to a core CSE student. So at the time of placements where hundreds of tech companies visit here, you can sit with others for joint placements. Further more you can select which subjects you want to study in elective part remember core students too have to select some specializations as electives from second semester. But you can't drop bioinformatics as a subject unless you successfully migrate from one course to other.
Program migration is also a remarkable feature at Vellore Institute of technology, where you can change your branch by doing very well at the ends of first and second semester respectively. The number of migrants allowed is about the 10-20 percent of the total strength in a particular course.
Hope it helps!!
Dear Divjot,
Msc Environmental Science is an interdisciplinary course which covers topics or subjects like Ecology, Physical Science, Geography, Atmosphere etc. There are variety of careers you can choose. It has wide scope in the both private and government sectors like Pollution Control Board, Water Authority and Urban Planning. Also, many private organizations like Refineries, Food processing industries, Fertilizer plants also hires environmental science graduates. It has career growth in abroad too.
Whereas, Msc. Bioinformatics deals with study of information technology which is applied for the analysis of biological data with the help of computers. It has wide scope in emerging years in the field of medical science. After this degree, you can work in all sectors of pharmaceutical and Biomedical organizations, research institutions, biotechnology, hospital, industry or even NGOs.
You can even be a professor in both the fields i.e, Msc. Environmental Science and Msc. Bioinformatics. Both have wide scope in their respective field. I would suggest you to choose as per your interest.
hope it helps.
