Bioinformatics
Hello Aspirant!
BIOINFORMATICS is a branch of Computer Science where we employ information technology to approach queries related to biology and provide an infrastructure to store the paramount biological data collected through research works done worldwide using computer software. It covers areas like systems biology, structural biology, genomics, proteomics, cell, animal and disease biology etc.
In general, it provides us solutions to convert gene sequences into proteins; to store protein/DNA sequences of different species; to compare the genetic code of a newly discovered organism with the existing ones; to predict, analyze and interpret clinical findings.
On the other hand, BIOENGINEERING is a technical branch dealing with the application of engineering principles to the fields of biology and healthcare. Bioengineers work with researchers, doctors and therapists to develop systems, equipment and devices in order to solve clinical problems and facilitate surgical, diagnostic and scanning medical procedures along with production of materials that can replace defective body parts.

hey mouriya,
if you are not having mathematics as your core subject in 12th grade then taking admission in btech bioinformatics wont create a problem ,as the eligibility criteria of bioinformatics is candidates must having physics, chemistry and biology as their core stream in their 12th grade and candidate must have passed their 12th grade with a minimum aggregate of 55% marks in their core subjects.
good luck!
hi,
see there is around 101 subjects in ugc net, and 5 topics are in CSIR net, you are eligible tp appear in csir net exam from mathematics stream, in ugc net exam for engineering graduates in ece/cse/ee/or any other circuit branch students the appropriate subjects is available in ugc net exams are
Computer Science and Applications
Electronic Science
as per your background you may choose computer science and application as a subject in ugc net exam.

Hello Nagavamsi,
Bioinformatics is the science of storing, analysing and retrieving large amounts of biological information. It includes many types of different fields like biologists, molecular life scientists and mathematicians.
Classic data of bioinformatics include DNA sequences of Genes or full genomes, amino acid sequences of proteins.
I hope it helps
Thank you
To pursue Masters in Psychology, ideally you should have had Psychology as a subject in your Bachelor's degree. You should have also scored a minimum aggregate of 50% in your Bachelors. With B.Tech you might not have had Psychology as a subject and so you cannot pursue M.Sc Psychology full time. But there are Institutions that offer Distance learning and those Candidates who do not have Psychology as a subject also can apply. One of them is IGNOU.
