what is the nature of cell-walls in diatoms

Shivendra1 9th Jul, 2020

The cell walls construction of diatoms is known as Frustule which consists of two thin overlapping shells fitting into each other just as a soap-box. Their walls are made up of silica. When the diatoms die, the silica in their cell walls gets deposited in the form of diatomaceous earth. This diatomaceous earth is very soft and quite inert. It is used in filtration of oils, sugars, and for other industrial purposes.

IN BRIEF:---

It consists of two overlapping shells...

I have got 62 in physics ( theory 32 ( internal + exam theory ) and practical 30, in chemistry 62 ( theory 32 ( internal + exam theory) and practical 30, in biology 58 ( theory 29 ( internal + exam theory) and practical 29. Am I eligible to appear in neet?

Hrisheekesh Singh 9th Jul, 2020

Hi Shree,

As per the latest eligibility criteria of NEET, a student is required to obtain a minimum of 50% if he is from GEN category and OBC/SC/ST student is required to get minimum 40% marks that are aggregate marks only for PCB subjects to be eligible for NEET.

So, in your case it is 62 + 62 + 58 = 182, which is equivalent to 60.67%.

This means you are eligible for NEET even if you are from GEN category.

ADITYA KUMAR Student Expert 9th Jul, 2020
Hello

Neet eligibility  criteria says that,
to be eligible  you must have passed your 12th with English and PCB (pass in both the theory and practical )  with at least 50 % in aggregate of PCB ( in theory +practical) in 12th  examination  if you belong to general category or at least 40% in aggregate of PCB if belongs to Obc/ Sc /st

So , as eligibility criteria it is mandatory to pass in both the theory and practical and you have failed in theory examination of physics chemistry and Biology and thus you are not eligible for Neet examination
