Hello Purva,

Hope you are doing good. Unfortunately, IISc (Indian Institute of Science), Bangalore does not provide a B.Sc degree in Biotechnology, i.e. they do not have any such program. However, they do have a research program in Biology (B.Sc Research in Biology) which is a 4 year program.

Both are good fields. On one side where B.tech Biotechnology is more technical B.Sc. Biotechnology is based on more of the theoretical coursework.
Although both theory and practical work are part of the curriculum in both the courses.

It has some difference like in honers Biotechnology takes 3 years , in b.tech biotechnology takes 4 years .

In B.tech you can learn other subject beside your core subject. But in Honer's you can only learn your core subject.

Unfortunately St Xaviers College, Mumbai just offers B.Sc courses in :
  • Physics, Chemistry, Maths, Statistics, Life Sciences, and Geology as single major
  • Botany, Biochemistry, Life Science, Microbiology & Zoology as double major.

It offers M.Sc Biotechnology but not B.sc Biotechnology .
