Congratulations on your attempt in JEE.
Any percentage between 88 to 90 would be enough to get a seat in biotechnology at SASTRA. But again it varies each year depending upon the competition and number of candidates applied.

According to the previous year record almost 90 percent of the students in Btech Biotechnology got placed with average salary six lacks per anum and the highest package is 22 lacks and lowest is 2.3 lacks so, I can say there is a good chance in VIT Vellore

Medical Biotechnology - application of exciting advances in molecular and cell biology to medicine only. ... In short, with biotechnology your focus will be wide ( medicine , agriculture, food, and environment) whereas in medical biotechnology , your focus will only be on the therapeutics.

If you want to take Btech( Biotechnology) then maths is not a compulsory subject. PCB pass with minimum 59% is the eligibility. But there are some institutes like JNU who considers maths for admission in Biotechnology
