surely yes biotechnology does come under biology .it is based on basic biological sciences like molecular biology,genetics,microbiology and many more.where biology is based on study of organisms,plants and life,whereas biotechnology uses the biological systems found in organisms to make technological advances.

it is not showing because there is no national exam conducted for MSc. Better option will be IIT-JAM. pursuing higher studies at IIT is a good option and it will be very helpful for you career option also.

Based on previous year third round cutoff the chances are less to get a seat in IITs & none of NIT offers Biotechnology programme. You can also check the previous year cutoff to go through with the given below link.
