I got 84 percentile in cmat 2020 and I also have a work experience of 2 years and Ive applied in colleges such as IMT nagpur, IMT Hyderabad, XIME Bangaluru, BIMTECH and SIES COMS. So, can I expect to get a call for interview from these colleges?

Pranav Mishra 8th Feb, 2020

Hello Aspirant,

I will tell you about the situation of these colleges in previous year -:

IMT NAGPUR AND HYDERABAD - They had call every student for interview but they they have taken only those students which are having more than 90 percentile in CMAT.

XIME BANGALORE - Cutoff for every exam is 75 percentile.

SIES MUMBAI - They also call every student for their GD-PI process, Selection depends on both scores in exam and GD-PI.

BIMTECH NOIDA - More than 70 percentile is enough for getting a call but they will take admission only for retail and banking through CMAT exam.

I hope the above information is beneficial to you.

All the best.

with 82 percentile in XAT, should i apply for BIMTECH?? Is it a good college for MBA

Sampriti Gupta Student Expert 27th Jan, 2020
BIMTECH Noida is an excellent college for MBA and is now a days performing really well in the fields of marketing and finance. With your XAT percentile you should definitely apply for it and must keep at least 5-6 colleges to choose from as the competition in the selection process is usually very high.

The fees is nearly 12 lakhs but the placements are really good. Reputed companies like Accenture, ICICI, Maruti Suzuki, EY, Amazon and others visit the campus and the average compensation package offered is nearly 8-10 lakhs. Moreover they have a residential campus and good infrastructure. And they also have a pretty strong alumni base so you can have good career advantages afterwards.

I have scored 69.903 percentile in XAT 2020 and based on this percentile which college is better in decreasing order from best to not so good : IMT Nagpur, BIMTECH(for IB), IMI Kolkata, FOSTIIMA, SIESCOM, IMI Bhubaneshwar and Universal School of Business Mumbai. I really need to join MBA this year.

Sampriti Gupta Student Expert 25th Jan, 2020
If you're getting a call from all these colleges then you must attend the selection process of all of them because you should always keep some options to choose from as the competition is always very tough. But if you get selected in all of them you must go for IMT Nagpur first. IMT campuses are good for marketing programs and several reputed companies visit the campus. After that IMI Bhubaneshwar and Kolkata. They are also pretty decent colleges in terms of marketing, finance and HR programs. The average package offered there is nearly 5-6 lakhs.

The rest of the colleges you've mentioned are not very good as per your percentile. You can still get some average placements there with the average compensation package offered being 3-4 lakhs but you should keep them as your last resort.

BIMTECH Noida is good for the PGDM program but the career scope for the specialized programs is very poor. It cannot assure you a placement.

Which college is better among IMI Kolkata, BIMTECH, XIME Bangalore and Welingkar Bangalore?

Sampriti Gupta Student Expert 20th Jan, 2020
BIMTECH Noida is one of the best B schools in India and among all the options you've provided BIMTECH would be the best option for you, if you've got a call from there. They have a strong alumni base and many reputed companies like Accenture, HDFC,TCS,KPMG,Maruti Suzuki and others visit the campus and the average compensation package offered is 7-8 lakhs. The marketing and finance programs are one of the reputed in industry.

After this you can check out XIME Bangalore which is good for marketing and offers an average compensation package of 6-7 lakhs.

IMI Kolkata and Welingkar Bangalore are pretty average colleges. Only the Ghaziabad and Bhubaneshwar campuses are good for IMI. And for Welingkar only the Mumbai campus is reputed.
But you can still get some placements in IMI Kolkata and Welingkar Bangalore if you pursue marketing from there.

Good Luck

Hello kush

It totally depends on you

What is more important to you,and in which you find your interest more, please sit down and try to solve this and choose any one of this, or if there's time difference then you can try for both, but it will be best if you compare both of them on financial, compatibility levels and then choose.

I hope it helps

If i dont go to BIMTECH for PI-WAT which is profile based calling, will they call me again for PI-WAT for 2nd round which will be held on the basis of exams score ?

Soumya Kanta Sarkar 21st Dec, 2019

BIMTECH or Birla Institute of Management and Technology conducts two rounds of PI-WAT rounds. One is conducted before the CAT and XAT exams which are generally called as the profile based shortlisting process. This process will look into your academic achievements, extra-curricular achievements and work experience if you have worked in any relevant fields. After this round, the candidates who are shortlisted need to get the requisite cutoff percentile in the exams through which they are applying for in the institute, after which they can get themselves fully admitted into the course.

Another round that BIMTECH conducts is the normal score based shortlisting process which happens generally in the month of February after the exams have declared their results. In the application form, the applicant has to explicitly mention the correct percentile in the exams which BIMTECH considers legible. If they secure that percentile or anything greater than that, they will be called for Written Ability Test and Personal Interviews. In the WAT, an essay would be given and the applicants will have to write it within the time specified and there would also be word limit. After that Personal Interviews are conducted.

Now coming to the question, if you do not attend the WAT-PI process of BIMTECH for the profile-based shortlisting process, you do not have to worry. If you clear their exam cutoff with the necessary percentile, you will be called for the WAT-PI process in the score based shortlisting.
