What is the cutoff needed to join bits pilani. Is cutoff necessary or entrance enough

pragya 18th Jun, 2019
Dear Aspirant,
Cutoff lists are prepared on the basis of performance of the students. Generally atleast 280 marks are required for getting descent course. You can refer to previous year cutoffs as cutoff varies every year. So we can predict the chances of variation.

Hope this helps.

shravani voruganti 18th Jun, 2019

Hi murali,

    1.60% aggregate in PCM

2.75% aggregate in all the 5 subjects.

If you have got the above two then almost 30% of your job is done.

  1. Coming to the remaining 70%, it depends on either your BITSAT score or the performance in your respective board. If you are sure you will be the topper of your respective board , then the task is easy for you. You can directly join into it

  2. OTHER WISE

Get more than 300 marks in BITSAT

  3. Hope it might helps you

Do DONATION work in taking admission in BITS PLANI??

Ns Student Expert 18th Jun, 2019

Hii Adarsh..

For admissions to Integrated First Degree Programmes(UG) at BITS, aspirants should have passed Class 12th class examination of 10+2 system from a recognized Central or State board or its equivalent with a minimum of 75% aggregate marks. They should have secured atleast 60% marks in each of the Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics / Biology subjects.

One can take admission at BITS Pilani after qualifying the examination BITSAT according to their concerned cutoff marks.

The institute also offers direct admissions to Board toppers/first rank holders of all central and state boards to the programme of their choice, irrespective of their BITSAT scores.

But their is no opportunity for direct admission at BITS Pilani.

Hope it helps.

Best of luck for future.

SHOULD I PROCEED WITH BITS ADMISSION WITH A SCORE OF 281 FOR B.E

NITIN BALASUBRAMANIAN 17th Jun, 2019

Hi,

The IITs (top 5 only) and BITS Pilani are EQUIVALENT (not equal though.)

The concept of equal would be that every entity attributed to a college equates with the corresponding factor. But here, colleges are ‘subjective’ quantities and can’t be compared in magnitude. Its just that BITS does better on some fronts and not on some others. Quora already has too much of BITSians listing out their unique (and indeed good) perks and appreciable statistics to support their claim.

For the stardom part, I honestly am of the belief that more than half the people from where all the chatter about colleges come from, don’t even know what they’re talking about. Even a BITSian’s or IITian’s friend won’t know much deep into the insights, pros, cons, experiences be it good or bad , harsh realities or unique perks of these prestigious institutes until they don’t explicitly tell about it.

So, it’s mostly uninformed chatter, and an infatuated sheep mentality of the general populace. Added to it is the vast Media light that falls upon IITs and all the over-hype around it.
