Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani
Hii,do not worry i m here to help you according to your query.Well,Bits PILANI , Hyderabad campus is better than nsit Delhi, in many terms, such as placement, quality of faculties, industrial exposure.
Hope, this information helpful for you.Goodluck for your future.
Hi,
The IITs (top 5 only) and BITS Pilani are EQUIVALENT (not equal though.)
The concept of equal would be that every entity attributed to a college equates with the corresponding factor. But here, colleges are ‘subjective’ quantities and can’t be compared in magnitude. Its just that BITS does better on some fronts and not on some others. Quora already has too much of BITSians listing out their unique (and indeed good) perks and appreciable statistics to support their claim.
For the stardom part, I honestly am of the belief that more than half the people from where all the chatter about colleges come from, don’t even know what they’re talking about. Even a BITSian’s or IITian’s friend won’t know much deep into the insights, pros, cons, experiences be it good or bad , harsh realities or unique perks of these prestigious institutes until they don’t explicitly tell about it.
So, it’s mostly uninformed chatter, and an infatuated sheep mentality of the general populace. Added to it is the vast Media light that falls upon IITs and all the over-hype around it.
Dear Praveen,
The weightage of class 12 marks will depend on the type of course a student takes. For B.E/B.Tech/B.Arch, no weightage is given for Indian students. However for NRI/PIO/SFFS students admission is based on the class 12 marks. For B.Pharm course, 40% weightage is given to board marks. Same is the case for BBA and BCA.
Hey there according to your marks and previous year cutoff for all branches the chances of you to get bits pilani is less.
Branches 2018 cutoff marks
1. Chemical engineering 280
2. Civil engineering 274
3. Electrical engineering 338
4. Mechanical engineering 313
5. Computer engineering 378

A rank below 5000 in JEE Advanced will not get a CSE branch unless the candidate is from some category. I believe that as long as the new IIT has a good connectivity and some sort of permanent infrastructure, it should always be preferred over any NIT/BITS except BITS Pilani when fees is not an issue! All the best.
Hey there,
BITS has it's own entrance examination called BITSAT. You need to apply for the examination and score well to bag a seat in any of the BITS universities. For IIITs, the minimum percentile is 99.5. You'd mostly not be able to get into IITs with your rank. You need to score a 210+ for top most NITs, 180+ for a mediocre NIT and a minimum of 150 to get placed in any of the NITs. Your percentile can be no lesser than 92 to get into into NITs. Look where you belong in the mentioned categories.
Good luck!
Hello Harsh ,
If you are talking about BITS ,then BITS is a private college having three campus in goa, pilani and hyderabad. For taking admission in these college you need qualify their college exam known as BITSAT which is conducted every year by BITS.BITS college do not take part in jossa.I hope it helped
Dear Aspirant,
Yes. You are eligible for BITS if you clear the entrance examination. The minimum required qualification for BITS is 75% in PCM/B. Since you clear that mark you are eligible for admission provided that you have cleared the exam and secured a good rank.

Dear rekha
Your Marks in BITS HD result that is 60 is very low and there is a very less possibility for you to get admission into bits from the waiting list as well.
The other way to get into bits is through management quota seats that are available. You should contact the bits administrations to inquire about it. I hope it helped
