No there is no direct admission in bits ; only some special ( like topper of state or students of bits school ) is possible to get .

You have to go through BITSAT entrance exam and with this 257 score ; it is not possible to get bits ( any of 3 campuses.).

So you should go with some other college .

In 2018, as per the records, the ECE department in BITS-Pilani (Hyderabad Campus) closed at 298 marks.

For 314 marks you can consider yourself on a safe side to get ECE in BITS-Hyderabad.

Hello Nikita, yes, like every year BITS will give admission only to the first rank students of recognized board examinations irrespective of their BITS marks. But you must satisfy one condition: You need to score at least 75% aggregate marks in PCM/PCB subjects with at least 60% in each of the PCM/PCB subjects in their Class 12th examination. Moreover, he should be from science stream and must have studied physics.

As your son's score is at border line ; so there is chances that he may get chemical engineering; civil engineering.

But have some chance to get Mechanical and electronic & instrumentation also ( depends upon other students choices and preferences).

If you are talking about BITSAT entrance exam than it is not possible to get admission in any of the campus with this score .

As bits is one of the top colleges of India ;you need to secure 290-300+ score ( vary according to campus and branch ) to get admission.

You need a lots of improvement and hard work.

1.  B.E. in ETC

2. Eligible GATE Paper code for you -EC

if you have qualified the exam then you can take an admission.

Your son can't get the seat in Bits Pilani.

According to previous year's cut off trends, it is difficult to get admission in BITS Pilani and Goa campus in any B.Tech degree. Although you are eligible for BITS Hyderabad but only in B.E Manufacturing.

However he got CSE seat in VIT , So I suggests him to go to VIT college because VIT is one of  the top class university in India .

If you want to get admission in BITS Hyderabad then you will easily get admission, but it will be quite tough to get admission in BITS Pilani. As, the last year cut off for B. Pharm (hons.) in Hyderabad campus was 217 while in Pilani campus it was 277.

I hope it helps and keep in mind that it was the previous year data and this year year data could vary slighty. So wait for counselling round and wish you all the best and you will prosper in whatever you will do.

BITS-2019 counseling will start from May 16, 2019, until June 18, 2019. All the eligible candidates have to apply online for the counseling on the link given below .

All the candidates have to provide admission registration form along with class 12th subjectwise marks. Then students have to arrange their preferences in order, and then counseling fees is to be deposited through online mediums like a credit card, net banking, etc. Counseling will be a 5 round process and at the end of each round, a result will be declared. If you are satisfied with the allotment you can submit the fees or if you are not satisfied you can sit in for the next round.

yes,you can change your stream.But need to have to have a good sgpa.It must be more than 8.5 to get your stream changed.There is that provision present and hence you can upgrade but you have to score more than 8.5 sgpa.So work hard.
