Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani
Student can also change their college after first year but they can only go to a college which is under the same university as their present college.
Moreover some colleges also will ask you to pay money for the first year if you want to take admission in second year.
But Thapar University and BITS are not under the same university, there is hardly chance for you to get admission in BITS if you have already Thapar University.
Though the branch you choose, will completely depend on your choice of subjects and your field of interest, yet Electrical and Electronics Engineering branch at BITS Pilani is considered one of the best branches there.

Good Luck
Hello!
Yes, ofcourse it is worth to do B.tech from bits. It has more responsive and innovative management and ofcourse better infrastructure.
BITS Pilani is famous for its unique academic flexibility, like zero percent attendance rule and ability to choose one's own timetable.
The education it offers is far better than what I've seen being provided at other colleges (including some IITs). And yes the faculty is highly qualified including some of them currently in national projects.

Hey
For BITS Pilani; Pilani, Hyderabad or Goa campus one needs to qualify and clear the cutoff in the Entrance Exam; BITSAT
The other minimum eligibility is: Students must have obtained an aggregate of 75% in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/ Biology in class 12 along with 60% each in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/ Mathematics
So if you score 960/1000 then your educational qualification would be satisfied but you still need to qualify BITSAT as well.
For further doubts, visit; BITS
