Before starting preparation first you should know the exam pattern and proper weightage for all the concepts. This can be known by analysing the previous year papers. Then for starting first find the best books and if you are interested in coaching you can find best coaching centers
yes. there are changes in pattern of CLAT from the next exam like reduction in he number of questions and more comprehensive questions. and Removal of legal aptitude section has not been confirmed yet.
I do not think these changes neccessarily prove beneficial to students who are better in English.

See I would suggest making the corrections whenever possible because you never know at what stage there may be some obstruction regarding the name.
Some colleges may have an issue with the name error and some may not.
