Hey!

For improvement examination only one chance in the succeeding year is permitted, and for the additional subject, the candidate may appear within 6 years of passing the Main examination.

You cannot appear for the exam as a private candidate in 2020 if you have finished your exams in 2018.

Yes, you can appear for the improvement exam to enhance your marks. In improvement examination, there is only one chance is permitted in the succeeding year, and for the additional subject. You can apply within 6 years of passing the Main examination.
