In Kerala, the grading system for Secondary and Higher Secondary examinations are based on Nine Point Grading System in which Nine (9) is the higher grade. For 9 grade, the positional value is A+. Now this 9 grade is allotted when a student score at least 90% of the total score of the examination. For students scoring 90 to 100% are given A+ grade. If 60 is the total score of the examination, then 90% of 60 which means 54 marks, the student has to score in order to get A+ grade. At least 54 and at most 60 score can fetch you A+ grade.

KCET rank is calculated considering 50% of KCET score and 50% of board marks. Now it is difficult to figure out any particular rank as it depends on few factors like no. Of candidates appeared, highest marks obtained etc. And these factors keep changing every year. You have good percentage in 12th, but KCET marks are not so impressive. Now if we see last year's data, your expected rank will be 45,000 to 50,000 approximately

Hello,
It's not going to any problem whether you change your stream or had year gap, in many of government exam interviews are scrapped such as that of Clerk/SSC CHSL/SS CGL to name a few, in exams where interviews are conducted, you may be asked about educational background and related stuffs, but honestly speaking in any examination, the written part is the only area you've your control over in terms of performing to the best of your capability, to give you an example one of the topper in UPSC last year scored extremely good in Mains but not so good in Interview, in fact if it wasn't for his high marks in Mains, qualifying UPSC itself would have been a hurdle for him. Also, changing streams is not such a huge issue as such, many science background people have had science at 10+2 and later changed to arts stream. Always focus on your preparation part, that what matters the most in any government exams, and this is an area you have control over as I said unlike in case of Interview.
