Ncert books are more preferable over any state board books be it Punjab or any other state board books.

So , you should go for NCERT books, also NCERT books are good for basic concepts and they are written in a very simple language,  also many questions in UPSC

Most of the questions in exam are based upon fundamental concepts of accounting and the study module provided by ICAI doesn't have sufficient questions for practice .  You need one reference book for practice .
