how to prepare gat - b exam and also gat b exam pattern consist two parts ,part-a 10 +2 mathematics, Physics, chemistry, biology .my doubt is my background is science background how should i prepare mathematics and what are the books to get good score in part a including all subjects.

keshav kumar 18th Jan, 2022

Hi aspirant,

Hope you are doing great.

Graduate Aptitude Test-Biotechnology is a national-level exam conducted once a year.

So the syllabus of this exam is huge but you don't have to cover each and everything just study those topics which have been covered in bachelors and focus only on important topics.

The exam consists of 2 sections.

Part A: 60 compulsory questions, 1 marks for each correct answer, Negative marking of ½ marks for each incorrect answer.

Part B: 60 questions to be attempted out of 100, 3 marks for each correct answer, Negative marking of -1 marks for each incorrect answer.

Part A of the exam will consist the 10+2 level questions of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology so for this you have to complete NCERT first and along with that you can go for HC Verma, Maths from RD Sharma for physics and for chemistry OP Tandon, Objective Biology by Dinesh are best. Now the part B will have a graduation level question from Biology, Life Sciences, Biotechnology so for that you have to study those books which you have studied in your undergraduation. In addition you can go for  Biotechnology by Saras Publications, and Biotechnology by R C dubey.

Hope this helps.

Suggest some good books for CLAT preparation?

mrinalini048 17th Jan, 2022

Hey!

When preparing for an exam such as CLAT, it is critical for the applicant to ensure that they have the top CLAT 2022 study books. Because if the reading or reference material is poor, the production cannot be far behind. As a result, make it a point to just use CLAT 2022 finest books to prepare for the exam.

CLAT 2022 will be held on May 8, 2022, for admission to the participating NLUs' various legal programmes. The CLAT application form will be available at consortiumofnlus.ac.in in the first week of January.

It's usually a good idea to use what the experts have to say as a starting point when making a decision. As a result, we've compiled a list of books for CLAT 2022 test preparation that professionals recommend. The books suggested by experts are as follows:

  • Universal’s LLB Entrance Guide
  • Lexis Nexis
  • Objective Arithmetic
  • GK Today
  • India Year Book
  • Analytical and Logical Reasoning by RS Aggarwal
  • Word Power Made Easy
  • Verbal Reasoning by RS Aggarwal
  • Manorama Year Book
  • Analytical Reasoning by MK Pandey
  • Butterworths
Recommended Books section wise:

English- The national-level exam's English language part will have roughly 28-32 questions, or a 20% weighting. Each of the 450-word comprehension passages in this part will be followed by a series of objective type questions. The candidate's linguistic abilities and understanding will be tested in this portion.

English is Easy by Chetananand Singh

Barron’s Pocket Guide to Vocabulary

Word Power Made Easy by Norman Lewis

Objective General English by RS Aggarwal

High School English Grammar and Composition by Wren & Martin

Current Affairs: The Current Affairs and General Knowledge segment of the CLAT question paper will include about 35-39 questions, with a weightage of roughly 25%. There will also be 450-word pieces culled from news, journalistic sources, and other non-fiction literature in this part. Four or five objective questions will be asked after each passage.

Pearson General Knowledge Manual

Lucent’s General Knowledge

Manorama Year Book

India Year Book

Competition Success Review

Pratiyogita Darpan

Newspapers:

The Hindu

The Indian Express

The Telegraph

Hindustan Times

Legal Reasoning- The CLAT 2022 question paper will feature 35-39 questions in the Legal Reasoning section, with a weightage of roughly 25%. The section's questions will be based on 450-word texts and will not need the applicant to have any prior knowledge in order to answer them. Legal issues, public policy issues, moral philosophical inquiries, and other topics will be addressed in the questions.

Bare Acts of Indian Constitution

LexisNexis Butterworths

Legal Awareness and Legal Aptitude by AP Bhardwaj

Universal’s CLAT Guide

Logical Reasoning- The logical thinking component will be weighted at roughly 20%, or about 28-32 questions. Questions will be based on texts that will be roughly 300 words long each. Reading these texts, the applicant is required to derive premises and conclusions, recognise arguments, analyse patterns, and make inferences.  Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning by RS Aggarwal

Analytical and Logical Reasoning by R.S. Aggarwal

Analytical Reasoning by MK Pandey

Quantitative Techniques- Quantitative Techniques will be the least weighted area of the five, with roughly 13-17 questions and a 10% weighting. However, this does not negate the value of the section; if the applicant can scrape out a few points, it will all add up to a higher total score, and hence a greater chance of being considered for a seat or a preferred NLU.  Quantitative Aptitude by RS Aggarwal

Elementary Mathematics with Numerical Ability

Class 10th NCERT Textbook

The best books for preparation as recommended by Toppers are as follows:-

Logical Reasoning

Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning by RS Aggarwal
