My friend completed her graduation in botany as main and now preparing for IIT JAM Biological science. Which course is preferable for her.

athira_1490858591 Student Expert 5th Aug, 2019

Hi Anu,

JAM Biological Science would allow you to take M.Sc in biological sciences from an IIT/NIT/IISC. However, there is some news that Biological Science has been removed from JAM tests. In that case, your friend would have to prepare for JAM Biotechnology as the syllabus and scope is almost same. Infact the number of seats are also more for it, so there is greater chance to have admission.

Otherwise your friend can go for M.Sc Botany in other universities or other courses like MBA if JAM is not cleared.

All the best!

Hello iam ganesh complete in 3 years degree in bsc course my options are botany zoology chemistry please tell me how to join the air force

Ns Student Expert 1st Aug, 2019

Hii aspirant..

The Indian Air Force basically comprise of the following branches:

  • Flying Branch
  • Technical Branch
  • Administrative Branch
  • Logistics
  • Accounts Branch
  • Meteorological Branch

Now, specifically for a graduate in Biology, there isn't any particular branch but being a graduate, you may apply for the Administrative Branch as well as for Logistics, provided you have scored a minimum of 60% in the bachelors degree examination. To get into any of the two branches, you will have to write Air Force Common Admission Test which is conducted twice a year by Air Force Selection Board. Apart from these two branches, you may also be considered eligible for the Flying Branch provided you have studied Physics and Mathematics in the +2 level. The entrance examination for the Flying Branch of Indian Air Force is conducted by Union Public Service Commission, known as Combined Defense Service Examination

Hope this helps.

Best of luck.
