Hello Aspirant,
If we talk about Business data analytics, it's growing specialisation and it have a huge potential. If we see the colleges providing it than most of the time highest package in placements in offered to data analytics guy.
It's a technical field in which you will have to derive the data and make strategy for business about future by reading big data through various programming language like Python, R etc.
Whereas, finance is very old specialisation, tested and believed. In finance you make financial decisions for companies like where to invest, how to invest, cost cutting etc.
If we compare both than both have good potential and a person can achieve heights of success in both specialisation but achieving success depends upon person's interest.
If want to achieve success than work in the field you are interested in.
Here, if you are interested in technical job than you can definitely choose analytics and if you are interested in finance than choose it.
Or if your college provide dual specialisation than you can choose both.
Hope this information would be helpful for you.
All the best

Dear Aspirant,
PGDM in Research and Business analytics is one of the unique and emerging field with high scope. The average placement for this course is 9 lakhs and the person can work as data scientist, data analyst, business analyst etc. PGDM core is a typical MBA program with limited specialization and the average package is 8 lakhs. So according to me Research and business analytics will be better for long term growth and it builds a very demanding profile.
Hope this helps
