Hello Jakka Vignesh , Candidates can secure admission in UG courses offered at Calcutta University if they have cleared their 10+2 level exam or an exam considered to be equivalent by the University. To secure admission in PG courses, students should possess a bachelor's degree from a recognised university/college.
Hope it will be helpful for you :)
Hello ayan
First checkout your syllabus and down below in the syllabus there may be a section of books recommended or extra books . You can buy among those books .Further you can ask any professor which books they preferred or they use it by their selves and then buy accordingly .I will suggest using pdf books or second hand books as you don't have to read it in your whole course .

Hi Rajashree,
I think you want to know about the books that are preferable for your course study. So the list of books to be read is available on the website of the University in the syllabus section for the course. You can open the official website and then select your course's syllabus and all the list of books to be read are available. You can shortlist it from there according to your choice of study and interest. It is not possible for someone else to suggest you what books to read as you yourself must be knowing much better what you generally prefer reading and which author's book you will be able to understand easily.
Hello Rajshree,
Yes, you can very well go for MA Psychology.MA Psychology is indeed a very good option if you are interested in the field of psychology. Psychology is the study of human behavior and the demand for this course is continuously growing. Some subjects you may study under MA Psychology are General Psychology, Applied Psychology,Social Psychology, Clinical Psychology,Counselling Psychology, Health Psychology, Industrial Psychology,Sports Psychology and many more in which you may specialize in future by doing M.Phill and Ph.D if you are interested . But, it is also to be noted that not all specializations are available in India when is comes to higher education in Psychology. For that best option is to go for abroad education. Career scope is also far advanced outside India for now. However, you may successfully enter into careers like mental health counselling, clinical psychology(only after Ph.D), career counselling, social worker, researcher, teaching, human resource and many more. However, for this subject you need to have deep passion and service mindedness to excel in your chosen profession. This is just a snippet of information about psychology therefore, I would suggest you to do a detailed research about, explore your interests and decide based on the career prospect which you think may suit you the best. Asutosh College is one of the best colleges under Calcutta University. The faculty and the facility is also very good. But it is under Calcutta university, where it is very hard to score. Though the times have changed now and scoring has become comparatively easier.
Talking about the course. It is Physics, which is one of the hardest general subject in itself. Asutosh college is great and is very widely known for the great faculty it has. The classes are highly knowledgeable and the faculty is very open and friendly.
But now the main aspect of the course is both to gain knowledge and score marks. Under Calcutta University, one can gain immense amount of knowledge but scoring marks hasn't been that easy yet. And marks are highly important, wherever one goes for their masters.
