The isotope which is generally used for skin cancer treatment is Rhenium 188 ( Re 188 ).

Scientists claim that rhenium-188 which is a radioactive isotope is used to kill benign tumours with a single application of a particular type of skin cream and it also could be used as an alternative to surgery.
