Hi Team Careers360, my cat 19 score is 95.49. I am fresher, nonengineer, male general. Can i expect a call from IIMs CAP? if not what are the other alternatives?

Sampriti Gupta Student Expert 28th Jan, 2020
You have a pretty good CAT percentile and considering the fact that you are a fresher you can expect a call from the new IIMs. The new IIMs are yet to declare their shortlist and the newest IIMs will release their list on their respective websites soon whereas IIM Bodhgaya has already declared their list. Depending on your academic background you'll receive a call from the newer IIMs now.

The selection process will take place with the new IIMs in the CAP round.

Good Luck

I got 71 percentile in CAT 2019, which colleges should I apply for , I have gone through one of the article from careers360 about this but still confused which one to choose.(I am final year BTech student).Should I study for CAT 2020 rather than taking admission this year?

Yashu Shrivastava 6th Jan, 2020

Hey

We have mentioned every college that you can apply at the given percentile, but i want to tell you Satisfaction Is Everything,if you are not satisfied that you did not get your desired college don't go for it.As you have mentioned that you're in final year B.Tech, that's good,i would suggest you to go for one more attempt next year because you have sufficient time to crack CAT.In between if you will get placed in any good company, don't leave that opportunity because work experience also plays a major role in many Colleges selection process, they prefer students who have more work experience.

So I would suggest you to give one more try and prepare hard to get your desired colleges.

I Hope This Helps

Best Of Luck!!

Does DTU accept MAT score. i have seen careers360.com, this website shows that DTU accept MAT score it is true.

Pankhuri Kumari 7th Feb, 2020
Hii Harish!
Delhi Technological University (DTU) does not accept MAT for MBA programmes. It only accepts CAT scores for MBA programmes followed by the GD-PI round. And then, a final merit list is prepared. You might have mistaken in seeing that. So, it's not true. Hope this helps.
Good luck!

hi careers360.i am 2nd year of b.tech cse.i want to write gate in 2022 .how can i prepare that.

G VIJAYALAKSHMI 16th Dec, 2019

Dear candidate,

As you are studying second year now. There are mainly 11 subjects that you should study for GATE(Gratitude Aptitude Test in Engineering).

1.Maths(15 to 20 marks)*

2.Theory of computation(5 to 9 marks)*

3.Digital logic(3 to 6 marks)*

4.COA(6 to 9 marks)*

5.Programming and DS(7 to 12 marks)*

6.Algorithms(6 to 7 marks)*

7.Compiler design(3 to 4 marks)*

8.OS(8 to 12 marks)*

9.Data bases(6 to 11 marks)*

10.Computer network(6 to 9 marks)*

11.Software engineering and web technology(2 to 8 marks)*

the above mentioned weightages are the lowest to highest mark of the appropriate question in a particular subject asked from 2011 to 2016.

these contribute 85 marks and the remaining 15 marks is on aptitude for now you should concentrate on your semester and try to give your 100%  in your semester exams and in third year you can join for GATE coaching.

Or if you wanted to prepare for it on your own then go through the following instructions and tips for your preparation:

Analyze Syllabus: Analyse the GATE syllabus and refer the previous GATE question papers follow the method of divide and conquer method and prioritize important topics and prepare according to it.

Start the preparation from today don't delay your preparation stay committed about the preparation it would be better to start with some easy and scoring subjects like DBMS, OS, Computer networks.. according to your choice.

Time table: Make a schedule of what to study and when to study depending on the importance of subjects and the topics and follow it at any cost don't postpone the schedule.

Running notes: Take running notes while the lectures and add it some more information while you are studying as it will be very helpful for your revision and it also makes you remember better.

Revise and practice: After completing each chapter revise it and practice questions on that particular topic and make sure that you are thorough with that topic so that you can develop confidence that you will be able to answer any question from that topic and so as the subject.

Mock test: At the final stage of preparation take mock test  before attempting the actual GATE this helps you to practice and gain knowledge on various questions and models and the questions in the mock test resembles with the gate actual questions.

Don't stress out: The final days lead you to fear and stress of exam so stay calm and believe in yourself develop self confidence while you are preparing take consecutive breaks which will be helpful and don't remain on a single subject change the subjects time to time so that you don't get bored.

All the best.

Hope this information is helpful.

Hello careers360. I am a B.Tech student who completed my 3-1 and entered 3-2, 2 months ago. I want to take GATE 2021. I want to know if online coaching is good or not and also the best online platforms for GATE coaching!?

apuroop sri durgesh 16th Dec, 2019

Hi Nitya!

you are having a decent lasting web association. As it sets aside your time and cash in contrast with physical training classes and gives you a GATE arranged investigation like each instructing. If you are far from coaching institutes like ACE,MADE EASY it likely best for you to opt online coaching. If you can spare time properly then online coaching is best. Here are the list of best coaching academies online:

  1. GATEFORUM
  2. THE GATE ACADEMY
  3. GATE ACADEMY
  4. SUPERPROFS

You can also refer many free online lectures in unacademy, Nptel etc.,

Hope this helps.

All the best!

Hello,

Nothing is impossible in this world if you will have dedications and discipline towards your goal.
No one is an average student or brilliant students, the only difference between an average students and a brilliant students is the mindset. So, if you will have better mindset then this exam will also be easy for you.Clearing any exam requires hardwork, dedication and discipline.

First of all make a study plan and set targets for daily, weekly and monthly.
Give more importance to those topics which have more chances of having high weightage in the examination and work on your weak areas.

Having right books an sources are must for the preparation so you must have best books. You can find books for preparing from the link below

https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/how-to-prepare-for-gate

Focus on Engineering Mathematics and Aptitude Test
The following books can be referred to for Engineering Mathematics:

Engineering Mathematics by Erwin Kreyszig
Discrete Mathematics and Its Applications by Kenneth Rosen
Engineering Mathematics by BS Garewal

A good conceptual understanding will be able to help you during the examination as it will make the questions explanatory which may eventually lead to a correct answer. By having a clear understanding of the concepts, you will be able to apply the concepts accordingly to the questions and solve it instead of relying on rote memory.

Time management is the key.You have college also and you will have to take care of your health so take care of everything accordingly.

You must do revision multiple times.Analyze your preparation. After completing every mock test or solving sample papers, it is important to check and try to correct all of the wrong answers marked by you. This will ensure that you will not wrongly answer the same question next time.
