My son got 13400th rank in VIT 2020 , his CBSE board cut off ( PCM) is 190 and with JEE percentile - 90.2312. But those studied in Tamilnadu stateboard and scored 182 in PCM with 85,8912 percentile got below 1000th rank. How come this happen in ranking ? Is it anomaly of rank preparation?

K.Durga devi 8th Aug, 2020

Hello sir/madam,

Generally, the rank list preparation is  based on seat availability, category belonged, competition level and of course marks...May be the candidate is under any reservations like Ex-servicemen,physically challenged, scheduled castes which also determines the rank list preparation.

Hope this finds helpful...ALL THE BEST!!!
