Nit Trichy Industrial metallurgy or Nit surathkal materials engineering- Which is better for M.Tech? I have done btech in mechanical engineering.

Nimisha Sharma 9th Sep, 2021
Both NITs are a great option for Mtech but according to me NIT Trichy has an edge over the latter in terms of placement, curriculum and overall ratings. However, you should first select the branch of your interest. Metallurgical & Materials Engineering encompasses three inter-related engineering disciplines: mineral processing, extractive (or process) metallurgy, and materials science and engineering. Explore more about both courses and then choose among them.

How is M.tech industrial metallurgy in NIT Warangal or Trichy? Should I choose it? How are placements?

Abhishek Roy 7th Sep, 2021

Select NIT Trichy over NIT Warangal as far as MTech Industrial Metallurgy is concerned. NIT Trichy apart from having one of the best Metallurgy Departments in South India after IIT Madras and IIT Hyderabad having strong faculty, infrastructure as well as career scope and job prospects, being located near Industrial and Manufacturing Hubs of Tamil Nadu. There are many Top Companies for Placements including Tata Motors, JSW, AM/NS, Sundaram Fasteners, SKF, TVS, Ashok Leyland, Airbus and many other Companies. Apart from this you may even apply for Public Research Sectors and PSUs including BARC, DRDO, HAL, SAIL, RINL, NALCO, CSIR NML, ISRO and many others. Many even pursue PhD in Metallurgy/MSE/Materials Engineering from highers technical Institutes in India like Top IITs, IISc or Universities Abroad.

Hello Aspirant,

In terms of education of mtech in manufacturing any student will find him/herself in University of Hyderabad as one of the best institute.
It has great environment and very humble and helpful faculties.

Similarly it has the best placement Central with no internal politics.
Getting placement is a sure shot after mtech from University of Hyderabad.

Hope this helps
