In regards to the recent tweet made by Dr.Ramesh Pokhriyal..where he stated that Only 12 passing certificate is needed for admission to NITs and IITs...Does that mean i can get admission in NIT with my JEE rank even if i failed in maths but passed overall in certificate due to 6th subject..

There is no minimum percentage required to get admission in NITs/CFTIs/IITs. But you must pass in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry from a recognised board. You can get admission irrespective of you percentage in class 12 provided you must qualify in JEE Main. If you have not passed in Mathematics

The answer to your question is, it really depends from college to college.

Few colleges provide fee concession if you are the school topper or city topper in the name of scholarship during the admissions or counselling sessions.

Some colleges also provide scholarship/ fee concession based on the rank

Do we need 75% in pcm or 75% overall in boards exams of class 12 to be eligible in NITs??

Hello Anupam,

As per JEE Main Eligibility Criteria 2020 , For NITs, IIITs and CFTIs admissions , the candidates should have obtained a minimum of  75  % aggregate marks or be in the top 20 percentile of their respective boards. For SC/ST category, a minimum of 65% marks required .

I can get below 75% in 12th 2019, then i go for improvement exams for all 5 subjects in 2020, but i give only 1 subject exam due to some personal reasons and absent in other 4,, then I eligible to give improvement exams in 2021.

Hello Aspirant !

As per the CBSE , improvement exam. can be taken only in the successive year of passing Class XII exams


So , you cannot appear for the exam in 2021.
