should i join Chandigarh University ? Im from Gujarat !! currently i have pandit Deendayal petrolium University !!

Abhishek Roy 11th Nov, 2020

I believe PDPU has a much better reputation and employer outlook than much newer Chandigarh University. PDPU is one of the Best Technical Universities in Gujrat with excellent infrastructure, faculty and research facilities and provides in depth technical education. Gujrat being an Industrial Hubs Companies like Reliance, Ford, Tata Motors, IBM, Adani Group, Amul, Mahindra, MG Motors, Schlumberger and many other conglomerates regularly recruit from PDPU Campus. Besides this PDPU has an excellent culture of students preparing for GATE and GRE and moving to higher technical institutes like Top IITs and IISc Bangalore for Masters or Doctoral Degree. This tells you about the rich campus culture and peer environment.

can I get admission in chandigarh university after jee main or jee

ARYAN SAGAR 10th Nov, 2020
Dear student,

You can get chandigarh university with or without jee mains marks.
Because in chandigarh university, even if you have not cleared jee mains then also you can get admission, because it's a private college ( by management quota). So, it accepts both jee mains marks as well as, give direct admission.
So, cracking jee mains accept the good government college. Because without cracking jee mains too, you can get this college.

Short Questions: (5*4marks=20marks) 31. Give a reason for the following: (a) Transition metals show variable oxidation states. (b) E value of (Zn/Zn) is negative while that of (Cu/Cu) is positive. (c) Higher oxidation state of Mn with fluorine is +4 whereas with oxygen is +7. |3]. 32. What is Tollen

AKSHAYA.V.A. 6th Nov, 2020

Hello!

31-(a) Transition metals show variable oxidation state because of their valence electron in two orbitals. Difference between the two orbitals is too less, hence both the energy levels can form bonds.

(b) Zinc (Zn) have higher tendency to loose electron when compared to that of Cupper(Cu)

(c) Mn shows +7 oxidation state with oxygen is because they are capable of forming double bonds, multiple bonds. When it comes to the case of fluorine they will become unstable.

32) Tollens is a test that is used to distinguish between aldehydes and ketones. Tollens reagent is used for silver mirror test. Aldehydes gets oxidized in Tollens and ketone wont. Tollens have ammoniacal content.                                                    EQUATION- 2AgnO3 + 2NaOH --- Ag2O(s) + 2NaNO3 + H2O.

ALL THE BEST. Hope the answer was helpful.

Thank You

Eo value for (Zn2+/Zn) is negative while that of (Cu2+/Cu) is positive

Arpita 6th Nov, 2020
Dear student

The reduction potential value of Zn is negative, it means the zinc electrode is negatively charged.

When zinc electrode is joined with SHE, it will not act as cathode as reduction half reaction will not occur spontaneously, instead Zinc electrode will acts as anode (-ve electrode) i.e., oxidation occurs on this electrode spontaneously. The +ve sign of standard reduction potential indicates that the electrode when joined with SHE acts as cathode and reduction occurs on this electrode spontaneously.

Positive sign of reduction potential physically signifies non-spontaneous reduction reaction and negative sign indicates spontaneous reduction reaction.
