Information regarding becoming a Chartered accountant for beginners..

Swati Singh 19th Feb, 2019

Hello!

First of all before starting your prepration prepare your mind for CA, because it needs full dedication, its not tough but hard work is must. One should be regular in his/her studies. Daily revision and practice makes easy for you to clear CA exams. I am quoting certain steps for becoming CA here:-

you will have to register for your entrance exam which is CPT at our indian institute for CA (ICAI). There are two attempts for this in a yera in June and another in December, select your attempt and fill the form accordingly. For June attempts forms are available from January. You can also fills the form online which saves your cost and time. You will get link at ICAI website for online filling.

Then after passing out CPT regiater for your Intermediate level which is IPCC. It has two groups with 7 subjects. You can give both group individually as well as combined according to your caliber. According to me giving both group combined is better because you get set off benefits in it. Then after registration you will get your Study materials delivered at your home. You get nine months for clearing IPCC at your attempt you can also skip attempts if you want to prepare more.

Then after clearing ipcc there starts your Articleship which is for 3 years. In it your get trained under a CA of your choice. During this 3 years you can start your prepration for your final level but you can give exam only after 2.5 years of articleship.

Then after clearing your final level and completing certain formalities you get degree of CA and a unique membership number under which you can practice or you can go for job too.

Hope it will be helpful to you:)

Please tell me about CA course on abroad

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 18th Feb, 2019
Dear Chamkur, Different countries have different criteria for becoming CA. But there is an agency ACCA which has generalised the course for CAs across the world. ACCA certification is equal in all countries. The eligibility criteria is that you should be a Graduate in a 2 year Chartered Accountant Programme overseas after receiving a Bachelor's degree. Some of the best colleges to pursue CA in the world are : American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants, Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland, Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ireland, Institute of Chartered Accountants of Australia, Edith Cowan University, Bangor University and London University. To be considered an ACCA accountant, you need to clear exams,  practical experience and an online ethics module. You have to pass a total of 14 papers to be eligible for thos certification. And you need to have a total of 3 years of experience before you qualify.
So ideally you can pursue the CA from the above said Institutions of the country of your choice and then put on 3 years of experience and qualify for ACCA certification. Once you clear the ACCA certification, you can practise globally.

Please tell me about CA course

Srishti Mehta 15th Feb, 2019

Hello dear

For being eligible to apply you should atleast be appearing for 12th exams. First you need to register yourself with ICAI then you have to apply for the entrance exam conducted for CA which is called common proficiency test (CPT). After clearing the exam you are eligible to prepare for the next level called IPCC. It is divided into two groups having four subjects each. Then you have to do articleship which is a type of training what the CAs do in their field for three years. After completing the articleship, you are eligible to apply for the finals which is again divided into two groups.

It takes minimum 4-5 years in completing the course.

I've given a rough idea about the course, for more concrete details please have a look at the article from the link below by our experts.

should I change to new syllabus of CA IPCC or continue with the old syllabus?

Pulkit 11th Feb, 2019

Hello Riya,
I think it will be better for you to continue with the old syllabus since you are already familiar with the old syllabus and have also studied for the same.
Switching for the new syllabus means you will again have to take all the tuitions and notes, which will be very cumbersome in my opinion.
so it's better to put all the efforts into the existing syllabus and try to clear the exam.
Also, if that's not what you wish to do, compare the changes that have been introduced and see if the new syllabus has topics from your comfort zone or the subjects you like, compare and see the pros and cons before making a final decision.

Hope this helps,
Good Luck!

After 12th how many year required for CA.

dhameerbhatia31_7970609 Student Expert 10th Feb, 2019

Helko Pushpa Aggarwal,

Basically you can be a Chartered Accountant within 4 and half or 5 years after clearing your 10+2 grade

After passing your 10+2 you need to register for CA Foundation exam, if you clear your 10+2 in February (May Results) then you can give CA Foundation exam in November. Means it will take at least 8–9 months. After clearing that exam you will be eligible to opt for CA Intermediate exam after 9 months of registering for CA Intermediate. It means if you clear your CA Foundation in November 2019 then you can write your Intermediate exam in November 2020. Once you clear any of the group of Intermediate you will he eligible for articleship which will be of 3 years. At the end of the THIRD year you can write your CA Final exam.

Hope this will help you!

Thanku.
