In which NITs you are interested.As cuttoff of chemical engineering stream is different for every NITs..To get chemical engineering stream in medium ranked NITs you need rank under 30k in general Category or rank under 20k for top ranked NITs.Or even with less rank you can get that stream

Psus cutoff for chemical engineering

PSU accepts gate and it takes the cutoff specified by the gate only. If you have qualified gate exam as per the categorical cutoff then you are eligible to take an admission at any college which accepts gate. The main point is the cutoff rank range which is not given

To get job there are some required percentage in your BTech announced by company .. with is the candidate who scored that much marks in their bachelor degree are eligible to seat in that company placement exam ...
So your backlog don't affect your placement if you acquire that
