I am thinking that if you are open to any college then maybe try for BIT Mesra Chemical Engineering with specialization in plastic and polymer so maybe you have some chance there otherwise I dont see any oppurtunity in any NIT of getting chemical engineering. All the best.

Yes you can take admission in diploma chemical engineering , also you have good percentage in 10th std , so you can get admission in good college .

Some of the good institutes offering chemical engineering are NIT warangal, NIT surat, NIT durgapur etc..
With 72 percentile you have no chances for getting admission for these courses in any of NITs. So you may go for some private colleges for chemical engineering.

It is not the total marks that matter in JEE Advanced, the individual subject cut-off is also of great importance. The subject cut-off is around 10% of the total subject marks.
Assuming Subject Cut-off is cleared. In the general category, it is hard to get qualified as the cut-off
