The marks u have got is just above the cut off of the hemical branch in GATE EXAM. As the chemical engg. is not that much prevailed all round tyhe country the appearing students are less compared to the core branch

for engineering three subjects are compulsory in 12th ie. physics , maths , chemsitry for any branch you choose .
for career in medical you have to choose physics , chemistry , biology as compulsory subjects .
