Civil Engineers are usually required in every field some of them:Government Departments, Local Authorities, Civil Engineering Contractor, Civil Engineering Consultants. A Civil engineer has also good scope in Indian Railways considering the Metro projects, regular construction and maintenance of buildings, bridges  etc.,

The highest placement depends from which institute you are pursuing the programme & also the Organization.
