As per your requirement, i would say that there are many privatr sector jobs for a fresh civil engineering diploma.
To know about them you need to check the internet regularly, login, search for it in different companies for whichever type of job suits you snd your educational qualifications.

As per your query.you want to change a branch.for this you have to score a minimum 8.5 cpga in first sem exam .then you have to applied for branch change.only top ten student are eligible for change branch in a section.

B.Tech Civil Engineering in Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology Surat has lower fees and B.Tech Civil Engineering in Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology Surat has lower cutoff through JEE Main.
Fees of SVNIT is 3.23 Lakh whereas the fees of IIEST

You have to look for goverment engineering college except IITs,IIITs or NITs for lateral entry..As only state government College allow polytechnic degree holder to pursue B.tech course through lateral entry..To get seat in government engineering college you have to qualify UKSEE examination with good score either JEE MAINS..
