Hi Sahil, when you say Building design engineer, then I am assuming you are referring to Structural Engineering. Technically speaking, to become a structural design engineer, the companies would expect that you have at least post graduate level qualification in structural Engineering. Yes, calcutta university do offers b.tech civil engineering course for 4 years. For this eligibility required is that students need to qualify 10+2 with 50% marks. And 90% admission are based on marks obtained in West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations. And rest 10% on basis of marks obatined

You don't need to worry about your percentage in 10+2. Because there is no such criteria to attempt gate examination. However, If you succeeded to score 65+ percentage marks in your engineering or masters then it will be more beneficial because of lots of PSU has percentage criteria
